During the 80s, Hulk Hogan and Rowdy Roddy Piper was the biggest rivalry in the WWE. WrestleMania I featured these two in a tag team match. With Vince McMahon investing everything he had in this pay-per-view, it was understandable that having Mr. T apart of that match and Muhammad Ali as a special enforcer. Im not saying that WWE went wrong with Piper vs Mr. T, but Piper vs Hogan at WrestleMania
Triple H vs The Rock
The Rock and Triple H was a classic rivalry. One of the best in the attitude era. These two started at the low card, moved to the mid card and right into the main event. When Stone Cold Steve Austin went down due to injury, the rivalry between The Rock and Triple H became the forefront of the WWE. These two had epic battle throughout 2000. The Fatal Four Way match at WrestleMania 16 was too much, that match would have been a classic if it was just The Rock and Triple H, with the Rock finally getting the belt back after chasing for 11 months.
Beth Phoenix vs Natalya
Natalya and Beth Phoenix are two future WWE Hall of Famers. A match between these two for the Divas Championship or Womens would have been great. It would have been a technical wrestler vs the glamazon. The fans would be able to find out who is the absolute best female wrestler in this generation. The story writes itself.
Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan
WrestleMania VIII goes down as the WrestleMania that could have been. Many of said that the match between Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan at Madison Square Garden did not generate the crowd reaction that they were looking for. However, In the Hooiser Dome, Im almost certain the crowd would have popped for that match. The way it would have been marketed WWE would have had hardcore WCW fans tune in to see if their guy would beat Hogan. What is sad is, WCW got this match, and rather than save it for their biggest Pay-Per-View, Starrcade, we got it during the summer at Bash at the Beach.
Randy Orton vs John Cena
We got John Cena vs Batista, but never got John Cena vs Randy Orton. WrestleMania 24 would have been the best time for this match. Triple H was a huge star and he did end up winning the title at Backlash that April, but Cena Orton being the two biggest stars in the past decade, it is hard to believe that we never got a one on one match at WrestleMania between the two.
CM Punk vs John Cena
In 2011, CM Punk became a household name. He became box office. He nearly did everything prior to his unexpected departure from the WWE. The one thing that eluded him, the main event at WrestleMania. The Rock and John Cena had a date with the main event slot at WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami. And while Punk was champion, he was not in the main event. After the Rock stated that he was determined to win the title at the following Royal Rumble, he was set to be in the main event at WrestleMania XXIX. Unfortunately for Punk, there was more money in a Rock-Cena II match than forcing Punk in the main event. But if Rock never comes back, John Cena vs CM Punk in the main event at WrestleMania in a bigger
CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan
We got Hogan vs Andre, we got Bret vs Shawn, but we never got Daniel Bryan vs CM Punk. Main event or not, this match would steal the show. The chemistry that these two guys have are off the charts. I will go on record and say, this match would have been the greatest match in WrestleMania history. The wrestling between these two have always been there, but the stories they would tell in leading up to the match and in the ring would be epic. At this point, the only chance we have at this match is if CM Punk makes an epic return.
